The mission of Capital Perspectives is twofold:
I have worked with public and private money for over 35 years, including the management of private investment portfolios. I earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Carleton University in 1987, obtained a Certified Public Accountant designation in 2012, and am currently completing the Canadian Securities Course. I retired from the federal public service in 2019 after working in senior executive positions, including Director of Fiscal Policy at the Department of Finance, and Assistant Secretary, Expenditure Management at the Treasury Board. I have conducted financial literacy workshops for CPA Canada that teach the basics of budgeting, saving, investing and managing debt to high school students and young adults. I am currently the chair of the Finance Committee for the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa, and Treasurer of ABCG Properties Inc and Carleton Condominium Corporation 92.
Knowledge is power. I believe in a collaborative approach to informing and educating clients so that they can take control of the most important aspect of their financial well-being: saving and investing at low-cost to maximize the power of long-term compounding. My coaching sessions are interactive, evidence-based and unbiased. I don't want to manage your money, or take fees from your investment results. I want to help you demystify the essentials of investing so that you have the confidence and discipline to manage your own affairs.
